- September 24, 2025 N&V: Parent-Guardian Permission Packet sent home with students.
- September 29, 2021 N&V: Recommended start for in-class Toolkit lessons. Signed permission form should be returned to teacher by this date.
- October 23, 2025 N&V: Teachers must submit their nominee’s campaign video, entry forms, and media release forms to CTDC by 5 pm (must be received by this date and time).
- October 27, 2021 V-O: Recommended start for in-class Toolkit lessons.
- October 31, 2021: Statewide Election Candidates announced and voting information posted at NE.KidGovernor.org.
- November 3-11, 2021: Statewide Election! (Note: Civic Nebraska will be closed on Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day)
- November 17-21, 2021: Live announcement of the elected 2025-26 Kid Governor (date TBA).
- January 13, 2026: Inauguration Day at the Nebraska State Capitol. The snow date is January 28, 2022. The 2022 Kid Governor, Cabinet Members, and their classes attend in person. Participating classes can watch live online.
